Pecorino Romano is the most famous Italian sheep's milk cheese. This is a very savory, hard Pecorino cheese with an intense and aromatic flavor, tending towards spiciness as it matures. 

Pairs well with full-bodied wines, such as Brunello di Montalcino, Sardinian Cannonau, or Cesanese from Lazio. Enjoy on its own, or grated over pasta.

Originally produced in the region of Lazio, close to Rome, most Pecorino Romano is now made on the island of Sardinia. An important ingredient in Roman dishes like Amatriciana or carbonara, this sharp, piquant cheese has been an indelible facet of Roman cuisine for over two thousand years!
