Fresh Hop Northleft is Great Notion’s luminous tribute to hop freshness: a bold hazy IPA that begins its journey with dry hops of Citra, Citra Lupomax, Krush, and Mosaic, then bathes in a staggering 600 lbs of fresh Krush hop cones for added vibrancy and aromatic lift. At ~6.8% ABV, it pours a hazy gold, delivering waves of citrus pith, bright tropical fruit, and resinous greenery. The extra fresh-hop soak infuses extra depth and intensity—lifting the nose with dank undertones while keeping the body smooth and pillowy. Fresh Hop Northleft finishes juicy, lively, and intensely aromatic—a seasonal showcase of hop oils at their freshest.

About the Brewery

Great Notion Brewing began as a neighborhood dream turned craft-beer lightning rod in Portland, born of three neighbors—James Dugan, Andy Miller, and Paul Reiter—who pooled homebrew passion, creative ambition, and business savvy to launch a brewery in early 2016.

They quickly earned a reputation for pushing boundaries—juicy, hazy IPAs, dessert-style stouts, and culinary-inspired sours became the language of the brand. As demand grew, Great Notion moved into a 60,000-square-foot industrial space in Northwest Portland, where soaring rafters and glass walls reveal the heart of production and create a welcoming taproom experience. 

Today, Great Notion operates multiple taprooms across Oregon and Washington and champions a direct-to-consumer model—selling the vast majority of its beer via its own outlets, app, and website. Their ethos remains bold and experimental—never content to follow trends, but determined to carve new ones.
