This Touraine Sauvignon Blanc comes from 30 year old vines grown on a combination of gravel and clay soils. The bright citrus notes give way to rounded flavors of peaches and melons before finishing with a dry, chalky mineral finish. Finally, there is a touch of fresh cut green herbs and white flowers that provide depth on the nose and palate.

About the Winery

In 1976 Pierre Plouzeau bought a dilapidated winery in the Loire Valley with hopes of restoring it to its former glory. After more than a decade of replanting vineyards and rebuilding the estate, Pierre was finally able to open his own winery. His son Marc took over in 1999 and this wine now proudly bears his name.

On the Left Bank of Chinon, native land of François Rabelais, extends a wine landscape preserved for several centuries. Recognized as a great historical terroir at the birth of the Chinon appellation, he asks only to reveal his extraordinary potential and to discover his hidden treasures. On these still wild hills interspersed with wood, the vines look to the south and enjoy a very favorable micro climate.

Thanks to the will of 2 generations, the Château de la Bonnelière has regained its nobility and its original vocation: wine. The vineyard, which extends over more than 30 hectares, is organically farmed. It is exclusively located on the communes of the Left Bank of Chinon.
