Verdicchio is one of the most age-worthy white wines in the world, and this one is extra special because of where it comes from—a high elevation town with soils loaded with limestone! Green apple and grapefruit give way to incredibly pure lemon, lime, and bitter almond. And all of that rests on a foundation of incredible minerality. Pair it with seafood, or a citrus and almond salad and you won't be disappointed. This wine also has enough texture that it will happily stand up to a richer chicken or pork dish. The possibilities are endless!

Certified organic, the grapes are hand-harvested and given a short cold-soak on the skins before pressing. The juice is then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, aging on the lees for three months, and then allowed to mature for an additional two months in the bottle prior to release.

About the Winery

Azienda Agricola Andrea Felici is located in Apiro, in the Marche region of Eastern Italy. Although technically in the Castelli di Jesi commune, Felici is far higher in elevation than most of the other wineries in this zone (nearly 1700 feet!), and their soils are loaded with limestone!!

The winery started estate-bottling in 2003, and is now run by Andrea's son, Leopardo. Before taking over the estate in 2007, Leo worked as sommelier in London at Gordon Ramsey's Savoy and in Florence at Enoteca Pinchiorri. The winery is laser-focused on Verdicchio, and only produces two wines: this Classico bottling, as well as a single-vineyard bottling, "Il Cantico della Figura."
