This is a beautiful expression of the Grenache varietal from the historic, dry-farmed Glenrose vineyard in Paso Robles. Completely unfiltered, the wine retains mouth-coating texture and is a perfect pair for a variety of dishes, including charred meats, roasted veggies, and even grilled salmon. The use of whole cluster fermentation adds great intensity to the aromatic expression of the wine and enhances the overall freshness of its bouquet. And yet, it's not a simple wine – complexity abounds and you'll want to sit and talk about this wine all night long. Bright red fruits lead into a potpourri of dried flowers, and the tannic structure is present but not overbearing. This one has Danielle swooning!

About the Winery

Lone Madrone was founded in 1996 with the goal of producing distinctive wines from vineyards in the rugged limestone hills of Paso Robles. Growing slowly yet steadily since, the focus is largely on vineyards that are dry-farmed and head-trained, which winemaker Neil Collins believes to be “the purest expression of the unparalleled terroir of west Paso Robles.” Neil also feels that when you begin with grapes from vineyards of this quality, in these outrageous soils, it only makes sense to “let them sing for themselves without being masked by our hands.” To this end, all the wines are fermented with native yeasts and aged in predominantly neutral oak barrels.
