Pale yellow and crystalline. On the nose there is an explosion of floral aromas: jasmine, white flowers, and orange blossom delicately enveloping a collection of fruity aromas, including apricot, ripe citrus fruits, and apple, all followed by a characteristic saline element. Velvety in the mouth, yet vibrant, nervy, and fresh, this wine transports the senses, conjuring up the landscapes of the Salnés valley. A creamy mid-palate that is well structured, features an explosion of fruity flavors of apple and stone fruits.
Vineyard
Small parcels of exclusively Albariño vines spread out along the Salnés Valley on the gentle slopes of its soft hills, sheltered from the sea. Traditional two-metre high pergola vine training, mainly west-facing towards the Atlantic Ocean. Integrated viticulture aimed at enhancing the natural heritage and biodiversity.
Harvesting
Hand-harvested in 20-kilogram crates. An initial quality selection is carried out on the estate where any clusters that do not meet the necessary quality characteristics are discarded.
Winemaking
The clusters are transported to the winery quickly and delicately. On the sorting tables any that are not healthy and clean or that fail the visual quality control are discarded. Following this process careful pneumatic pressing is carried out. Directed alcoholic fermentation in small stainless steel tanks at low temperature.
About the Winery
Nestled in the verdant landscapes of Rías Baixas, Spain, Bodegas Veiga Naúm stands as a beacon of Galician winemaking tradition and innovation. Founded by a passionate family with deep roots in the region, the winery is a testament to the dedication and skill honed over generations. Their story is intrinsically tied to Albariño, the star grape of the D.O. Rías Baixas, and the essence of the winery's celebrated wines.
Veiga Naúm thrives on a philosophy of harmony between nature and craftsmanship. The estate’s vineyards, bathed in Atlantic breezes and nurtured by the region's mineral-rich soils, yield grapes of exceptional quality. Every cluster is hand-harvested, ensuring only the finest fruit is selected. The winemaking process combines traditional methods with modern techniques, emphasizing minimal intervention to let the terroir shine through. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks preserves the vibrant, crisp, and aromatic qualities that define their Albariño wines.
Their flagship Albariño exudes the essence of Rías Baixas—floral notes, zesty citrus, and a distinctive saline minerality that speaks to its coastal origin. Bodegas Veiga Naúm is more than a winery; it’s a steward of Galician heritage, inviting the world to savor the unique spirit of its land, culture, and craft.
