Domaine Curot’s 2025 Sancerre Blanc is a clean, energetic expression of Sauvignon Blanc grown on the clay-limestone-and-flint soils of Vinon. Lime and lemon lead, followed by ripe white fruit, crushed oyster shell and a faint touch of white pepper. Fermentation and aging in stainless steel preserve its freshness, while time on the fine lees adds subtle texture without dulling its precise, mineral finish. Bright, dry and refreshing, but never severe. Pair it with oysters, goat cheese, grilled fish, asparagus or charcuterie.

About the Winery

Domaine Curot was founded in the 1980s by Evelyne Curot, sister of Sancerre grower and winemaker Éric Louis. Evelyne and her husband began with just a few acres of vines, later joining forces with Éric in 1999 to share vineyard equipment and cellar resources. Éric handled the winemaking, and when Evelyne retired in 2013, he assumed full management of the domaine.

The estate now encompasses 14 hectares across the villages of Thauvenay and Vinon, with vineyards planted on a mosaic of limestone, clay and flint-rich soils. Éric’s own family history in Sancerre reaches back to 1860, when his great-grandmother Pauline tended vines and bottled wine—an unusually enterprising step for the time.

Domaine Curot achieved French organic certification in 2023. Grapes are harvested at night to preserve freshness, gently pressed and fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel. The wines mature on their fine lees under nitrogen, allowing the domaine to limit oxidation and keep sulfur additions low. The result is a polished, contemporary style of Sancerre that retains the region’s characteristic tension and mineral character.
