About the Brewery

Side Gate Brewery & Beer Garden is one of Concord’s most welcoming craft beer spots, built around the simple idea that good beer should feel like a backyard hangout with better taps. Founded by Bay Area natives Kevin Wilson and Paul Culbertson, Side Gate grew out of homebrewing, friendship, and the kind of “come on through” hospitality that gives the brewery its name.

Their beers are brewed on-site in Concord, with a lineup that moves easily between crisp lagers, expressive IPAs, playful seasonals, and the occasional curveball. The taproom and beer garden have become a neighborhood gathering place—relaxed, family-friendly, dog-friendly, and full of the little details that make a brewery feel lived-in rather than manufactured. For us, Side Gate is a local favorite doing exactly what good neighborhood breweries should do: making fresh beer, keeping the mood easy, and giving people a reason to stick around for another round.
